Should The Celtics Want to Play the Heat in the Playoffs?

Greeting, Chudlings. [cracks knuckles]

So tonight on the podcast King Chuddy posed a question about how I felt about the prospect of potentially playing the Heat in the playoffs, and if I would rather play them to avenge last year or wind up avoiding them and taking an "easier" path through the playoffs. Now I know that's not exactly how he worded it, you'll have to listen to the episode to get that version, but it's been weighing on me since.

Now, would I prefer to take the easiest route through the playoffs? Absolutely. But what is the easiest path, really? I mean, take a look at the standings in the Eastern Conference right now.

First things first, I know we have a play in - cute little extra game for some bad teams, but I don't see the Bulls, Hawks, Nets, Raps getting into the actual playoffs. The top 8 here will be the top 8 come playoff time. I know Chuddy might see a little more parity in that bottom half than I do, but in this blog post I am the captain! (And for arguments sake, if one of them does make it in as the 8 seed then boom the easiest path starts there - blog over.)

So let's just say it all holds firm as it is here. We're the 1 seed, the Magic are the 8 seed. The Magic are a bigger physical team, something that has given us problems so far this year. Now I know ever since we beat up on the Magic they have fallen pretty far

That scenario gives us Magic, winner of Cavs/Knicks, then likely Bucks or Philly. I know the Magic have fallen off since we beat them back to back earlier in the year, but that's a team that when given that chip on their shoulder has proven they can give us problems. Now I'm not saying it's knock us out problems, but they could just make it harder than it needs to be. I'm thinking this new look Knicks team can get past the Cavs, so we have the Knicks - who, granted I don't think would beat us, would make it a very physical grind.

DO NOT POST YET, GOING TO BED WILL FINISH TOMORROW IF I CAN REMEMBER THE TAKE I WAS GOING FOR
